SMS/Text Messaging Program

Last updated: July 20, 2026

IronKite is a field-service management platform used by trades businesses (for example plumbing, HVAC, and electrical contractors) to run their operations. Where a business enables it, IronKite sends service-related text messages on that business’s behalf to the business’s own customers. This page describes that messaging program and exactly how customers consent to receive it.

What messages we send

Messages are strictly transactional customer care related to a job the customer requested. There are two types:

  • Technician ETA notifications — e.g. “Hi Jane, your Frankie’s Plumbing tech is on the way, arriving in ~30 min. Reply STOP to opt out.”
  • Invoice notifications with a secure payment link — e.g. “Pay your Frankie’s Plumbing invoice ($240.00): https://… — Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”

We do not send marketing or promotional text messages through this program.

How customers opt in (consent)

Consent is collected by the trades business at the point of service. The complete opt-in flow is:

  1. A customer contacts the trades business to request or book service — by phone, in person, or through the business’s own booking/intake form — and provides their mobile phone number.
  2. At that time the customer agrees to receive service-related text notifications (ETA and invoice messages) about their job at that number.
  3. The business records that consent in IronKite by checking an “SMS consent” checkbox — which is unchecked by default — on the customer’s profile in the IronKite console. The checkbox is shown below.
  4. IronKite will not send any text message to a customer unless that consent box has been checked. Customers who have not opted in are never texted.
The IronKite customer form showing the unchecked 'SMS consent' checkbox and its disclosure text: 'This customer has agreed to receive service text messages (ETAs and invoice payment links) at this number. Message & data rates may apply; reply STOP to opt out. Required before any texts are sent.'
The “SMS consent” checkbox on the IronKite customer form (unchecked by default). The exact on-screen disclosure reads: “This customer has agreed to receive service text messages (ETAs and invoice payment links) at this number. Message & data rates may apply; reply STOP to opt out. Required before any texts are sent.”

Message frequency

Message frequency varies based on the customer’s service activity — for example, when a technician is dispatched or an invoice is issued for their job. This is not a recurring or scheduled campaign.

Opt-out and help

Recipients can reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages, and HELP for assistance. Opt-out and help requests are handled automatically.

Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply.

Privacy and terms

We do not sell or share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. For details, see our Privacy Policy (including the “SMS/text messaging” section) and our Terms of Service.
